Get Out Of Debt With A Debt Management Plan

Filed Under (Financial Planning, Get Out Of Debt, Pay Off Debt) by Moneybags

Debt is often a hard subject to talk about and think about. However, if you never give it the attention it deserves it will most likely destroy you. The holidays are the perfect time to talk about a debt management plan. While others are busy shopping and getting deeper into financial ruin, you are taking the time to learn how to change your life. By following the debt management plan laid out for you below, you will be able to make progress toward a debt free life.

You first need to sit down and organize all your credit card bills. You want two piles. The first pile should be the statements with the 3 lowest balances. The second pile should contain the 3 highest interest rates. Paying down these piles will help you in different ways.

You will want to attack the cards with the lowest balances first. Once you have paid down all three of these cards you feel very accomplished. This will give you the mental strength to pay down the 3 cards with the highest interest rates next. Once these cards are paid down, you will notice a dramatic reduction in your payments. This is because you have knocked out a large chunk of your finance charges.

During the time that you are paying off your cards, you will also need to reduce your spending significantly. If you cut your spending you will build up debt at a much slower pace. This will help you to stay ahead of the game and pay off your debt.

Following a debt management plan will help ensure that you make progress on your journey out of debt. If you simply stay persistent, use a home budget software to plan your budget and aggressively pay down your debt, your debt problem will disappear and you will be one less statistic. Never give up and you WILL succeed. I wish you good luck!
